26th October 2018:

All our needs were met in this apartment. It allowed us to be central to enjoy a very good few days. Restaurant excellent .All very good and friendly but... Mattress in double bed needs replacing, soap holder in shower would have been good and just be aware that twice in evening TV came on by itself!!!!

Tips:

Book in at the cottage restaurant it is excellent and you get 10% off. Lots of good shops in Ringwood and great access to the Forest. Lymington, Burley, Lyndhurst all eithin easy distance to drive. The apartment is a great place to stay if you want something quirky and a great sense of history.

The shower is designed for slim people. The hand basin could be bigger. That apart good value for money. The location near to lots of Pubs restaurants is excellent.

Tips:

We ate out in Ringwood four times and our favourite was Fridays Tapas Restaurant. Friendly people serving excellent quality food. They are even dog friendly.

11th August 2018:

Great stay, thanks very much. Reasons for the 4/5 ratings below - all minor: - kids made Lego on the floor and their assembled creations had hairs stuck in them (dog and human) so I think the carpets could do with a more thorough vacuum - needs a cloth for wiping down the table. We could only find a dish sponge. - could do with some hooks on the back of the bathroom door to hang up towels and a shelf in the shower room - might be worth checking with the wifi provider to get a consistent service

Tips:

Great place for a short stay of up to a family of 4. Staying in such a charming old building is a great experience for kids and foreign visitors. Narrow steep stairs and sloping floors so able-bodied only. Big folks will find the bathroom/toilet cramped. Very central, nice pub (Fish Inn) with garden close by and several other dining options. Kitchenette only suitable for basic meal prep. Spotty wifi. We had no issues with noise from downstairs as others have noted. Excellent location for New Forest Water Park, Go Ape in Moors Valley, horse riding at Bagnam, Liberty’s Raptor Centre and biking at Burley.

13th June 2018:

We stayed in Avon Mist and it was absolutely delightful. We really appreciated the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and the chalk note, a very nice welcome! It’s a truly lovely place to stay when visiting Ringwood and the bed was very comfortable, we will definitely be staying there again – Thank you!

Tips:

Look no further when it comes to restaurants, just go downstairs, a very good and varied menu. There is also Love Italy, great coffee and good food, coffee was so good we bought a kilo bag of beans! Luna Coffee is another good independent coffee house, with a lovely outside space at the back. Dressing Room is an independent women’s clothes shop, with clothes you wouldn’t find on the high street and good fabrics, cotton, silk etc. helpful and friendly shop assistant. All in all it’s a friendly town.

5th May 2018:

Lovely building and facilities.. as expected, very well presented. The only comment is, while the information folder is very useful, it does need reviewing. I did not locate the shaver socket in the bedroom, or the fold away additional worktop as described. Otherwise a really enjoyable stay. I left some leaflets about the New Forest on the table with the folder, it would be nice to have these for arrival, as an introduction to the area.

Tips:

Lots of very nice local restaurants and shops within a minutes walk. Very friendly locals can give ideas for places to see. A must is the ice-cream outside the Old Shed in Burley, 10 minutes drive away, and the lovely small town of Lyndhurst 15 minutes away. Check the free, and readily available New Forest pamphlets to list the places to visit like the reptile center for an insight into the conservation projects going on.

We found the accommodation suitable for a couple with two children but probably not for two couples as access to bathroom is via a bedroom. Comfortable and clean. Fine if you do not want to cook full meals as there is no built in kitchen only a cupboard with fridge hob microwave sink. Lovely garden for children annd dog. Restaurant not open much during our stay. Front door sometimes difficult to open/lock.Quite noisy as close to A31 but this didnt worry us.

Tips:

Great for children and dogs. Can take them in Fish Inn and White Hart to eat. A number of cafes with outdoor seating. Moors valley great for kids and dog. Close to Bournemouth/Poole etc.

The flat is ideal. So well equipped. Everything is provided you can possibly need. You don't see much of the people who let it which is good really as you have almost total privacy. They are available if there is a problem. The location is perfect. Near shops, pubs and restaurants and beautiful dog walks. We brought our labrador and she loved it too! The checkout at 10.00 is a bit of a push when you need to prepare the breakfast and clean the flat!

Tips:

We had a meal at the Fish. 5 minutes walk away. Loads of supermarkets close by which we needed as we used the kitchen a lot.Easy to excercise the dog at the old Bickerley rail line. Were made very welcome at the Star Inn. All without using the car!

Lovely dog friendly apartment! Located close to the centre of Ringwood with its choice of coffee shops and real ale inns as well as easy access to forest and river walks. We were grateful for wine and breakfast ingredients divided by our host. Access is via steep stairs and sofas both pretty low but we had a great stay and would visit again.

Very lovely cottage, extremely cozy :) The single beds had great mattresses, the double bed was rather creaky, a new mattress would solve the issue. Shower has a bit of a manual; first turn off the waterflow and then adjust the temperature, otherwise you can only increase the heat :)

Considering you were dishing up 75 dishes to so many hungry (mostly drunken guests!) we were very impressed! Food/hosting wise (considering our very fussy guests!) you were amazing, thank you! Our accommodation upstairs was lovely too, more then you'd ever need for one nights stay plus a very pleasant view to boot! The only thing (and this is personal preference) is the curtains didn't block out enough light! I was up with the sun (at just after 6am) But that is just because I find it hard to sleep once woken :) It is a very pretty, clean and efficient place to stay, I can't believe you fitted so many features in a small space!

Tips:

The views from the cottage are amazing and if you are seeking a small friendly place to stay this is perfect, we will def be back again! I cannot say enough how friendly and down to earth the staff are, even accommodating our children's requests on helping out. My 9 year old son is most proud Paul helped him 'pop' the bottle of Champagne at his Mothers wedding :) (without asking I hasten to say!) The area is beautiful, anyone who knows the New Forest knows this is the area to be in :) Food wise this place will knock your socks off....vegetarian..no problem. vegan...no problem...gluten free...no problem and by no problem I don't mean baked potato and beans I mean the chef finds this a welcome challenge! Paul is a man who knows his food, ask him and he will produce :) I absolutely 1000% recommend this place to stay or just to eat, you won't be sorry :)

31st August 2015:

The accommodation is really quaint. The facilities fit in the context well - but of course have all the modern comfort. It is one of the oldest houses of Ringwood, I understood. The compact-kitchenette is hidden in a large wall cabinet and contains nearly all you can wish for. There is a pub downstairs below the apartment. It's open only for lunch and dinner times and usually closes at about 10pm. Of course all the walls aren't straight and the windows are small. It is a popular preconception, that Germans fear suffocation, if they are not able to air out their rooms properly. Well this accommodation has only one opening window, being so small, even a persons head would not fit through. This window is supposed to ventilate kitchen, the kids bedroom and the master bedroom, when to doors are kept open. However the thick walls ensure a good indoor climate.

The charming renovated really old house was as nice as the pictures! We loved to stay in Avon View. It is a beautiful appartment with lots of charisma. We found every thing we need for a self catering holiday. As we arrived late on saturday the little breakfast preparation for sunday was very welcome. The hosts were very friendly and open to us and helped us with every question we had within two weeks. Thanks Tricia, Paul and family!

The restaurant in the basement is very good and with the same charme as the appartment. You shouldn´t miss a day out at corfe castle and at compton acres gardens.

A good accommodation near New Forest. Nice smelling towels, a steap staircase and for long people a little low. Husband and son bumbed their head a few times.

Tips:

The Italian restaurant (a few steps from Avon) is very good. Go visit New Forest, Bournemouth, Lyme Regis, Lulworth cove and castle, Brighton and Stonehenge.

Beautiful property, well positioned for exploring the New Forest & coast. We were slightly unlucky with restaurant opening hours and our holiday dates but found other lovely places to eat. Only thing I'd improve is the wifi access as we found this a bit hit and miss.

A warm and welcoming cosy atmosphere. The accomadation is spacious and has everything you could need - from an iron to fresh milk and coffee in the fridge. Our third stay and we'll be back soon!!

Tips:

You can't beat Pauls cooking and Marilyn's wam personality - just pop downstairs to the extensive mouth watering menu. Over our three stays and several night out visits I can safely say we've worked our way through the menu. Try the artichoke heart starter and the scallops - amazing! The local town of Burley is quaint for a wander - see new forest ponies, deer and a selection of locally made fudge and wine.

We had a lovely 3night break in this beautiful picture postcard cottage. We found it perfectly spacious & the location was great. Thank you to Paul & Tricia.

Tips:

We had beautiful meal from The Old Cottage restaurant (underneath) which we were able to enjoy upstairs, while the children slept - thank you Paul (the Chef). We also thoroughly enjoyed The Fish Inn, which was family friendly & breakfasted in The Boston Tea party on Saturday morning - beware on a Saturday morning it gets very busy due to the local Farmers market.

Flat is above the restuarant which is quite noisy when open, as the noise seems to amplify in the flat. Although, it is a lovely flat, full of character.

Practically in the town centre so well placed for shops, pubs & restuarants. Nice river walks nearby. Restuarant below the flats does great food, with an extensive menu.

Charming and characterful apartment, great hospitality - the welcome bottle of wine is a lovely touch, and the milk very considerate. We strongly had a lovely meal in the restaurant below, with a great choice for the vegetarians in our family. Ringwood is a pretty town with lots of gastronomic choice and perfectly located for cycles, walks or drives into the new Forest. No hesitation in recommending Avon View for a group of three, as in our case.

Lovely apartment, very quirky, well located within easy walking distance to Ringwood. Limited self catering but suited me as I enjoyed sampling the delights of the on site restaurant. Internet access would be beneficial.

Tips:

Ringwood is a lovely Market town with a good selection of shops, bars & restaurants. Would recommend the Boston Tea Party in the Furlong for breakfast/snacks and enjoyed the atmosphere in Framptons in the High Street for meeting up with friends for coffee or cocktails. Ringwood is well located for access to the New Forest, Bounemouth & Poole with and has a good bus/coach service to many places of interest.

Everything was perfect, the pretty outside and lovely antique furniture and uneven floors inside. The furniture was comfortable, the bed perfect.
