Fantastic place - highly recommended. Pauline and Mike are great hosts, warm and welcoming, and the place full of nice little touches to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The breakfast was particularly good, with a huge selection of very high quality food (lots of it locally-sourced), and every item cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are perfect, but you can order more if you want a bigger plate. The village is lovely and the New Forest is spectacular - first time I’d visited either. Can’t fault this place at all!

Pauline & Mike are a fab couple so welcoming and friendly. They can’t do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble! If you need anything you only have to ask. Our room was lovely with a lovely view of the garden, our own en suite bathroom and easy access to the utility room with washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave etc. Breakfast cooked every day was so nice and plenty of it, set us up for the day! There would only be one reason I wouldn’t recommend it and that’s in case my friends got to stay there and i couldn’t get in!! 😂 Thank you both for a lovely stay and if we get the chance we’ll defo come back!!
Tips:Do read Pauline and Mike’s directions as we got there and couldn’t find their road at first, it’s easy to miss. However, when I read their instructions we found it easily. Sat nav’s take you into the car park next door!! There’s plenty to see, and do, in the area and surrounding villages, and the forest is beautiful! I would suggest you don’t travel as fast as the 40mph speed limit as the ponies, donkeys, cows and the odd few pigs do have a habit of suddenly changing direction and can walk out in front of you, please be aware and drive carefully!

A nice friendly welcome and a quiet room within 10 minutes walking of the pubs and cafes. I was a bit disappointed nobody cleaned my coffee cup and emptied my bin while I was out on the second day, but otherwise pleased with my stay.
Tips:I would recommend the Snakecatcher for a meal. they are not the cheapest, but full plates and well cooked food make it decent value.

Great location - a short walk / cycle from Brockenhurst Train Station. Just a couple of 100 yards from the village shops, bars and cafes, yet set in such a tranquil setting with peaceful gardens. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts Pauline & Mike, from a warm greeting to a fabulous breakfast, and use of the utility room and facilities. The extra fridge with fresh milk and bottled water was a nice extra. Although the rooms were homely, they were spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Would definitely stay again.
Tips:Plan in advance as there are so many places to see and things to do, and if you are not sure Pauline & Mike have all the leaflets and information you need for the local area and beyond!

26th July 2022:
I would not hesitate to stay at Meerut B+B if I visited the area again. Mike and Pauline were friendly and welcoming and always happy to give friendly advice about the area. Their B+B was located at the end of a peaceful lane off the village, but was only a few minutes walk from the local shops, there are also several nearby pubs within walking distance. My room was clean and comfortable and also had an entrance from the patio area with a table and chairs outside, which was very pleasant to sit outside on a sunny evening. The breakfast was very good, also I had access to the utility room with a microwave and toaster etc, this was very convenient if rather than eating out, I could quickly buy some food at the shops on my way back and cook it in the microwave and sit on the patio to eat it. I found Brockenhurst to be an excellent location. I do not drive but the trains and buses both go to Brockenhurst, it was a practical place to base myself and travel to other parts of the forest, but also a very nice location in itself.
Tips:I found the new forest very good for walking. You can walk to the forest within 15 minutes from Brockenhurst, also you see new forest ponies in the village area. I visited Beaulieu Motor museum and grounds including the abbey, I thought this was an excellent day out. Also I visited Bucklers Hard, this is about a 2 mile walk from Beaulieu, it has a history in ship building including building ships for Nelson. It is very scenic and you can take a boat trip on the river, again an excellent day out. I also visited the New Forest wildlife park near Ashurst, again this was excellent, I got to see a wide variety of animals fairly close. The coast at Barton on sea along to Milford on sea and Hurst castle was a lovely walk and very scenic, with views of the needles ( Isle of White) from Milford on Sea and Hurst castle. It was also very good in Hurst castle. The most wild and remote part of the forest seems to be the North West corner, I did a walk at Ashley Walk near Godshill, this was very good with a variety of different scenery, and I really felt I was in the heart of the forest. In the holiday season there are 3 open top buses that travel around different parts of the New Forest, I found this a very enjoyable way to get about, with lovely views from the top of the bus. If you buy a 5 day pass it is good value.

Nothing was too much trouble, was able to relax in lovely surroundings. Breakfast choice was excellent, bed very comfortable, everything spotlessly clean. What’s not to like?! Also prices very reasonable.
Tips:I had a lovely lunch one day at The Huntsman and popped into the Buttery Cafe very close to Meerut. Service and food was good but, for me, a pensioner, a bit pricey. Friends drove me around to various towns, loved the Saturday market in Lymington, walked along the seafront in Milford (?) opp the Isle of Wight and the Needles, had a good acupuncture session in Brockenhurst which eased my back pain somewhat. Noticed there was plenty to do for younger more active people but was very happy with my relaxing break, beautiful countryside, ponies etc.

Firstly, Pauline and Mike are outstanding hosts. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. They really care about their guests and provide a standard of accommodation that surpasses other more expensive hotels in and around Brockenhurst. Secondly, the rooms are comfortable, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The most impressive feature is that each room has its own private access to a patio area and garden with patio furniture. The facilities at Meerut are extensive and the breakfasts are amazing. I cannot recommend this ideally located B&B enough.
Tips:The hosts provide helpful information about walking and cycling routes. Brockenhurst and the area is full of walking routes and has several good pubs and restaurants. I have never been disappointed in any of them. Hatchets Pond is beautiful and well worth a visit.

We couldn't have wished for better hosts, your warmth and friendliness was very much appreciated as were all the useful suggestions, advice, maps etc that you offered during our stay. We also felt very safe, and the breakfasts were excellent too. Thank you Pauline and Mike!
Tips:We had a very good dinner in the Foresters Arms; our other favourite places were the Fleur de Lys in Pilley - not cheap but a great, cosy pub with very good quality food and drink - the walk there from Brockenhurst was lovely too. We also liked the Saltern in Lymington for its range of cask and keg craft beers. The walk along the nature reserve from Lymington to Keyhaven was stunning and having the Forest on our doorstep was wonderful. Sightings of goshawks, egrets, waders and a kingfisher were particularly thrilling for two very amateur twitchers! The donkeys and ponies of Brockenhurst were a delight too, of course.

Lovely room, great breakfasts, nice location and good facilities. Only one problem which was the shower didn’t come hot one morning suggesting hot water drained by others earlier. An electric shower wouldn’t have suffered from that issue!
Would Recommend: Yes
Owner Response:We are extremely sorry to hear today about the lack of hot water in the shower and would have offered you an alternative bathroom if we had known. A few weeks ago there was a problem with a lack of hot water when we were washing up. On investigation we discovered the guests that had checked out early that morning, had left the hot tap running furiously in their bathroom. We're sure this was possibly the same day. Many apologies once again. Pauline and Mike

31st October 2021:
Such a welcoming, warm and comfortable guest house. Pauline and Mike always make our stay with them very enjoyable. They are such thoughtful hosts with added facilities in the utility room. They offer very comfortable and spacious en suite rooms and a very good choice at breakfasts, including locally produced sausages and bacon. Vegan, dairy free and decaf finales options are readily available too. They have clearly worked very hard to ensure the highest standards of Covid security both in bedrooms and in the dining room.
Tips:So much to see and do in the New Forest if you love wildlife, Nature, beautiful scenery and pretty villages. Miles of safe cycling, walking and riding tracks. Cities of Salisbury, Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth all quite close by; and the coast can be reached within a few miles at Lymington, Christchurch or Bournemouth. One of my particular joys is a day in the Forest with the ponies (at a safe distance, of course!) and happening upon little treasures of coffee shops or community shops like those at North and South Gorley, and The Cider Pantry at Burley.

The scores I gave were 5, only because I couldn't give any higher on here. Pauline and Mike were the perfect hosts. The most charming, friendly and hospitable people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The property they have is fantastic with great rooms and we had some lovely breakfasts. It is ideally situated in a central location with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Tips:We were on a mountain biking holiday and all the trails were right on the doorstep with easy access. We ate in the Huntsman, Snakecatcher, Albero Italian restaurant and the Indian in the high St all of which were very good.

We had a lovely stay at Meerut. It is in a nice peaceful location in Brockenhurst with nice restaurants, pubs and shops just a short walk away. The rooms are clean, comfortable and cosy. Pauline and Mike were very friendly, helpful and accommodating providing everything that we needed and offering some great tips for nearby walks and activities. Would definitely stay again!
Tips:Thai Britannia for tasty Thai food and Dynasty for good Indian cuisine at a fair price. The Snake Catcher is a nice pub to enjoy a few pints at. Try any of the local walks around Brockenhurst to enjoy the lovely countryside. Jump on the train for a short ride to Lymington by the sea and if it’s a nice day, take a walk along the wetlands towards Milford On Sea and stop off at the Gun Inn for a nice traditional pub experience.

Fabulous hosts. Couldn’t be more helpful! Room very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a short break of four nights. Meerut is situated about a minute’s walk from the centre of Brockenhurst and around 10min from a number of very good pubs and restaurants, so is ideally located in the village and is central for days out in the New Forest. Covid regulations have made things a little more challenging for running a B&B but Pauline and Mike are doing a brilliant job of keeping things safe. Breakfast ... don’t miss the fry up! 10/10! We like to think we will definitely be going back to Meerut!

Lovely clean and comfortable room with ensuite and it's own entrance, table and chairs outside and garden to use and enjoy. Beautiful spot in a fantastic location. Delicious breakfasts especially the bacon! The hosts were great - so friendly and helpful (and they jave a LOT of local knowledge between them). They've been doing this a long time and are very very good at it!
Tips:The A to Z book map (Adventure Series) of the New Forest was reaaly excellent. Its the same scale as the OS map but in handy pocket size book - can be bght in Tescos in Brockenhurst or ask the hosts at Meerut to borrow one of theirs. We liked Alberos Italian restaurant - mid priced, good quality and good service with a big pizza oven so you can watch the pizza process!

Pauline and Mike are friendly hosts with a fantastic knowledge of the area. You get a great nights sleep in a comfortable room then start the fresh day with a fabulous breakfast. The B&B is in a great location in the heart of Brockenhurst village yet quiet, being at the end of a short lane. It is a short walk to local pubs for evening meals or just a pint. Ideal for everyone with rooms on the ground floor and accessible so might return with my disabled mum in the future. Would recommend to anyone.
Tips:Foresters arms have a limited menu but the food is good for the price. Hare and Hounds offers more choice and equally fair price but is a short drive away. We always stock up at Sway Butchers in the nearby Sway village whose local meat products and meals all prepared on the premises (even vegan) are exceptional.

Tips:Rosie Lee's tea room for a good cream tea! We also sampled the fish and chip shop (yum) and a the Italian 'Albero' which did great take away (very cheesy!) pizza and pasta. This was our first visit to Meerut. Mike and Pauline are perfect hosts. We were in communication via email before we arrived, confirming time of arrival, where to find the keys when we arrive etc. We were met by Mike when we arrived and shown to our room and then had a tour of the amenities they offered to make our stay homely and comfortable. We were staying in the Maple room which had its own entrance and patio area. The utility area which is available to all guests was fantastic, offering a fridge and freezer and washing machine and ironing board should we need it. At breakfast we sat with other guests who were all previous visitors to Meerut and enjoyed their stay so much they frequently return. The full English breakfast was the best, and the attention to detail over the choice of sausage they picked to serve was very well thought through. We will definitely return again and can highly recommend their accommodation to anyone. It was lovely to be greeted at the door and offered a drink- very welcome after a long drive down. Everything was explained thoroughly, including breakfast, use of the bathroom and utility room and also the fact that we have our own 'front door' leading directly on to the garden. Use of the Utility room was incredibly helpful for us, especially as we could chill our drinks and sandwiches before we left - the free bottles of water were a lovely touch. We're already looking at returning as it was such a lovely stay.

I would definitely stay at Meerut again if and when I’m in the area. I would highly recommend this b&b to anyone thinking of staying there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Meerut, the weekend break was a birthday present for my daughters 7 birthday. The room by far exceeded our expectations from the photos online. My daughter has aspergers on previous holidays its taken a full day for her to settle into the surroundings and relax, but as soon as we arrived and got into our room she was relaxed and was able to enjoy her birthday from the moment we arrived.
Tips:There are lots of pubs and restaurants locally so finding somewhere to eat is not a problem, the shops are right on the doorstep including 2 small supermarkets and the forest is only a short walk away so for me as a non driver there's plenty of things local that we can do without struggling to much for transport.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The room and shower room were spotlessly clean. Everything you needed was there, TV, tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer. The English breakfast was fantastic. Thank you Pauline and Mike for making our stay with you so special and memorable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this B&B - everything was perfect. We will definitely be returning.
Tips:The B&B is conveniently located behind the high street. There are two supermarkets closeby and plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. It's always nice to leave the car behind and walk and enjoy a drink. The New Forest is right on the doorstep for walking and cycling and there are a lot of other lovely villages to visit within a short 20 minute drive.

I would definitely stay again!Thanks.

Pauline & Mike the hosts of Meerut b/b were helpful in local knowledge of the Brockenhurst new forest. Nothing was too much trouble to ask about anything of the local restaurants where to shop what to see or do.There was even a utilities room on site with fridge freezer,& washing machine for your use. I would definitely stay again for the excellent breakfast, fresh air, with good people.
Tips:At the end of meerut b/b drive there is a Tesco express just in front, also a Sainsbury express to the right. Down the road is a nice Fish & Chip shop. I am writing this as I was on a budget. Also Indian, Chinese take away restaurants and a collection of local pubs. Near the train station is a bike hire company to explore the local forest.

Great place to stay. A big thanks to Pauline and Mike for making our stay in a beautiful part of the country extra special, very friendly couple and gave great advice on cycling routes in the area and a lovely coastal walking route with fantastic views of the isle of white. Nice room with a comfortable bed and a great view of a beautiful long garden.Lovely tasty breakfast in a fantastic clean well set out dining area. Also a big lock up shed to store cycle’s in. We’ve travelled to many parts of the country and stayed in many different place’s and normally like to stay in a place only once due we enjoy trying different things, however we would definitely like to return to meerut.

So much more than a B&B; it’s great to have a key to your own entrance door from the garden, but there’s also use of a well equipped utility room with fridge-freezer, microwave etc so you can self cater. The location is tucked away and feels rural yet it’s in the centre of Brockenhurst which is very well supplied with restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets and ponies! The forest is a few minutes walks with footpaths and cycle routes. With Brockenhurst having it’s own cycle hire and train station you don't even need a car. Last but not least the hosts Pauline and Mike couldn’t be more helpful. 5* alround

Really lovely B&B will definitely be coming back. We came down from London and stayed for one just one night as we were watching my Dad in the half marathon, but we soon wished we were staying longer. My parents stayed for 4 days and loved it. The rooms are a good size, great facilities, cosy and very clean. The bed was really comfy a better quality then most hotels I have stayed in. We had our own private access to our room via the garden, which we really liked. There is also a door inside so you can pop into breakfast. The garden is beautiful. You can sit out on the patio outside of your room. There is a lovely summer house with a heater. We sat out in this on Sunday and it was lovely to sit and have our tea and cake. There is lots of lego in there for kids to play with or big kids in the case of my husband! The property has a utility room that all guests can use. This is a fabulous idea. Here we had access to a large fridge to store any food or drink and it had complementary bottled water. There are plates, cutlery, ice packs, a microwave and lots of other useful things. Perfect for bringing back a takeaway or for making a picnic! You can also use their BBQ as well. Breakfast was amazing really yummy, great choice and they catered for dietary requirements. I had veggie sausages and the perfect poached eggs! The location is a great base to go visiting places, there is bike hire and a very good selection of places to eat, drink and little shops. The perfect mix of being away from it all, but still having all the amenities you would need. I went for a run in the morning and quickly found my way to the forest, which was beautiful. The finally thing to mention is your amazing hosts. They have mastered the art of ensuring you have everything you need and feeling very looked after, whilst feeling you have your privacy and can just relax. They went out of their way to look after us and the other guests providing early breakfasts for the runners and even gave us a life to the race finish. We feel we have discovered a gem of a place here. The perfect place to escape London and relax. A home from home.

Absolutely faultless. We couldn't find a single thing that we would change. Located in the heart of Brockenhurst but very quiet and you would never know that you are less than 100 yards away from the centre. Mike and Pauline are very friendly hosts, room is lovely, impeccably clean and breakfast is terrific. The utility room facility is a boon and use of summer house and garden a big bonus. For a more complete review have a look at my review on Tripadvisor (PeterH). Very well recommended - don't hesitate.

Spent 3 nights at Meerut and have to say that this is fantastic value for money. From the minute we arrived throughout our stay we were made to feel extremely welcome by Pauline & Mike, they truly are superb hosts. They have a wealth of knowledge of the region and can recommend days out and things to do if for some strange reason you're stuck on what to do. Nothing is to much trouble and the Full English breakfast is top notch especially The New Forest sausages and Eggs. The accommodation is of a high standard, very clean, very well maintained and well decorated. You won't go wrong if you choose to spend your holiday or short break here, I know we will be looking to book again in the near future. Thank you for a lovely stay Pauline & Mike
Tips:Very convenient for local shops, restaurants and a short walk into the Forest. Superb location.

We stayed for just one night en route to the Isle of Wight but would not hesitate to return or recommend to others. Pauline and Mike have obviously worked very hard to create their excellent B&B. It is also obvious that they have given careful thought and consideration to providing facilities and amenities, such as the utility room and patio areas, that help to make the stay at Meerut a special one. The information from Pauline about places to eat in Brockenhurst was very much appreciated. So too was her recommendation to visit Key Haven Nature Reserve, Lymington before embarking on the ferry to IoW. We'll be back!
Tips:For a reasonably priced and decent quality evening meal, try The Snakecatcher in Brockenhurst.

Thanks for a lovely stay! I felt very welcome and it's a lovely comfortable room. It was very nice having patio door access to the room from the rear of the house and not to feel like I was disturbing you or other guests when entering and leaving. In particular, thanks for helping me catch last orders for food at the pub by running me up into the village when I arrived a bit later than planned!
Tips:Three pubs in close proximity - suggest making the short walk down the road away from the village to the Huntsman which has a great menu, good beer and a beautiful beer garden with lots of shady tables tucked away among the trees. The other two are a bit more rough and ready 'local pubs'. Drive really slowly into the village in case of ponies but if you are in the New Forest you'll be prepared for that anyway!

Pauline and Mike were excellent hosts, attending to our every need. Our stay started with a welcoming cuppa, which was much appreciated after our long journey and our room was immaculate. It was the attention to detail which most impressed us. Little things like china cups in the bedroom, bath robes, toiletries to use, hairdryer and towels, to name but a few. They even offered to take us to the venue as we were down for a wedding. The breakfast was very tasty and had plenty of variety. Our stay was brief, but we would highly recommend it.
Tips:One of the great advantages of booking with Mike and Pauline is that you don't have to stay for a minimum of 2 nights. Meerut is found in the centre of Brockenhurst, but away from traffic. There is easy access to the New Forest area, indeed we did a walk from Meerut suggested by Pauline and Mike, ideal for seeing the wild horses and birdwatching. Nearby are several National Trust properties and we visited Mottisfont. Lovely gardens.

This was our second stay with Meerut and certainly won't be our last. Upon arrival you are greeted with a very warm welcome and the rooms are clean and tidy and very comfortable. We all slept very well including my 21 month old daughter who doesn't usually like to spend many days away from her bed at home. Breakfast the next morning is delicious and you have so much choice from fruit, cereals and yoghurt to full English or continental breakfast. The location of Meerut is perfect being only a short walk from the village centre of brockenhurst and a very close drive to the other villages within the new forest. We can't wait to stay with you again. Thank you.
Tips:There is a wide variety of restaurants and takeaways to choose from in brockenhurst. The rainbow fish and chip shop is our go to meal for our first night as very reasonably priced and very yummy. The snake catcher is also great food and service. We visited longdown activity farm during this visit and highly recommend to families and even couples as a great farming experience in the new forest. The farm shop there also has a lot of variety. Marwell Zoo is also another favourite of ours and something we do upon returning to the new forest each time. You can easily spend a day there. We find just walking on the trails situated in the new forest to be just as relaxing and fun though.

This is the second time we have stayed at Meerut, and this time with our friends. Pauline and Mike couldn't be more welcoming, and really do have everything covered to make your stay as comfortable as possible - even providing a utility room stocked with a fridge (for cooling wine/drinks should you wish to have some)and crockery, cutlery and glassware should you wish to have a takeaway. The rooms are all exceptionally clean and what our friends commented on also was how great it was that all three rooms could be accessed from the patio that overlooks the wonderful garden, meaning everyone can feel free to come and go as they please, at whatever hour should they so wish! The breakfast is fabulous, with plenty of choice in cereals, fruit and yoghurts as well as a hearty full English breakfast or continental if you prefer. We found there was no need for lunch, even after a 30 mile cycle ride! We will definitely be back as Pauline and Mike treat you like returning friends, even offering to collect you from the train station should that be your choice of transport. Thanks to both of you again for a lovely stay!
Tips:Meerut is fabulously placed. It is at the end of a very quiet lane meaning you get a great night's sleep, but is within a few minutes' walking distance to the centre of Brockenhurst where there are a choice of pubs, restaurants, tea-rooms, takeaways and individual shops. Being in the New Forest, there is a cycle-hire shop just a few minutes walk away, next to the train station, and if you are hiring bikes for a few days Pauline and Mike have a large, lockable shed which can easily accommodate these overnight. There is an abundance of cycle rides and walks right on the doorstep, as well as Beaulieu Motor Museum (which you could cycle to!), Bovington Tank Museum and other attractions being an easy car journey away. The Isle of Wight ferry is only a 7 mile cycle ride away too, and with the ferry running hourly this was a great day out.

Mike & Pauline very friendly & attentive hosts. Good choice for breakfast & wonderfully cooked & plenty of it. Excellent utility room for that extra cuppa & large garden to enjoy. Rooms very clean & well maintained.
Tips:Walking distance of at least 3 pubs & several restaurants. A small parade of shops, these include gift shops, clothes shop, greengrocer, butcher etc. There is also a Tesco direct & Sainsburys local for later purchases. We stayed 2 nights as we were attending a wedding so did not get to see the surrounding area but would like to return to explore more next time.

Very pleasant hosts, chatty and informative. The comment about the ww1 New Zealand war memorial just minutes away was really good advice, as we were not aware of it, and found the visit quite moving thinking of 100 years ago and how the hospistal must have been. So telling kiwis about it was just one example of being great hosts.
Tips:A pleasant village to wander around with plenty of choices for lunch or dinner. Yes and it has a water splash!
