Welcome to The Maples. Our beautiful early last century period home in the Hampshire village of Hythe on the edge of the New Forest. The Maples is a 7 bedroom guesthouse which has been a hotel since the 1930’s. We offer a choice of room options: double, triple, single and family rooms, most with en-suite facilities. The comfortable rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen television and wireless internet access. The Maples is famous for it's breakfasts. The choice includes a hot breakfast of either a traditional English breakfast or one of our daily specials and a cold buffet, with a variety of fruits, yogurts, cereals and a wide selection of jams and marmalades. Most produce is locally sourced and vegetarian breakfasts can be provided if preferred. As The Maples is on the edge of the New Forest National Park, there are plenty of things to do and see for all ages. We look forward to welcome you to The Maples in the near future.

Both Elizabeth and Martin were fantastic, they both made feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble.the room was very clean and comfortable, the cooked breakfast was first class. for the price point of the stay made it five stars with out a shadow of a doubt.

Tips:

I travelled for work reasons and ate out at two locations, the Flemming arms (hungry horse) and the bridge,i would happily recommend them both, i would say the Flemming arms offers good value for money both restaurants were good.you would need transport to get to either venue from the maples.

5th November 2023:

Excellent and filling breakfasts. Willing to accommodate an amended arrival time due to travel issues with a car breakdown. Everything there in the rooms, some of which present - not used. Car parking although only four spaces was not an issue as permission to park in the Aldi Supermarket opposite alright to do, due to old town by-laws.

Tips:

Used Ferry to Southampton, first time a good look around this city. Able to leave car at the Maples for the day. Restaurant Mama Mias was used for an evening meal one night very pleasant re meal and helpful accommodating staff. Primarily Italian based cuisine. Also found Royal Oak Inn, Hill Top up to the normally good standard re a Monday evening meal (following a Lepe coastal nature reserve visit) as have used this location several times in the past. A little way outside the Hythe area.

Thank you to Elizabeth & Martin for making us feel very welcome and 'at home'. Everything was perfect and we especially liked the little extras, bath robes & home baked cookies. We would recommend The Maples to anyone travelling to Hythe, but also a great location to explore the New Forest and surrounding area.

As usual, the room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were fantastic. Elizabeth and Martin are great hosts. The Maples is placed within walking distance of the shops in Hythe and the Hythe ferry to get across to Southampton.

Tips:

The Amalfi and Thai corner are well worth a visit. Food is great, and reasonable priced. We also tied BeBe's cafe for lunch. It was right in the middle of the lunch period and was full, so we expected to wait so were very surprised by how quickly we were served and the food arrived.

What a gem! A rare occasion when all the 5-star reviews are well deserved. A unique location, never heard of Hythe (Hamps) before I booked. Walk for 30 mins in one direction and you will be in the New Forest, surrounded by wild ponies. The ferry next to the accommodation will take you to the hustle and bustle of Southampton Quay for shopping/lunch. The house itself is clean and comfortable - with everything you need for a relaxing break. Wonderful hosts, whose local knowledge and sage advice was invaluable. A well-cooked breakfast made with high quality produce. Highly reccommended.

Elizabeth and Martin gave us a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Good knowledge on local events, places to eat and drink, days out etc. Great breakfast choices, lovely courtyard area available for guests if you want to just sit and relax with your own glass of wine or to have your own takeaway meal. Our room was very comfortable and the ceiling fan was definitely welcome! A great weekend break, thank you:)

Tips:

The Maples is within easy walking distance of all amenities - restaurants, pubs, shops, supermarkets, etc. Good sea views from the promenade and gardens. The ferry trip from Hythe Pier across to Southampton is definitely worth it, Southampton has more to offer than we thought! A quiet guest house, very clean and presentable with a great hostess who looked after our needs. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fan cooled the room down. Breakfast was fantastic, served hot and lashings of hot coffee.

Tips:

Situated at the entry to the small town with ferry links to Southampton. Pubs were all friendly apart from the Ebenezer, apologies but it was simply unfriendly with poor staff. The lord Nelson was great, good selection of drinks and a beer garden. Plenty of tea rooms to take your pick from and above all the kebab shop, the best kebab I’ve eaten for many years.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming without being overbearing at all and I had a sense that I could come and go without judgement. Just no smoking or eating takeaways in rooms which is absolutely fine and it's so fantastic that there's a microwave and guest fridge in dining room which so that you could sit down and eat your takeaway/whatever at a table much better than in your room.

Tips:

I was in Hythe doing a course at the dockyard for a couple of days and so didn't have time to explore as such. I did a little bit of shopping in the lovely local shops but no sightseeing. I would say that as a sole female traveller I felt very comfortable walking around and going into restaurants and bars by myself. The Maples location is practically in the centre so no long dark walk 'home'. People were so friendly.

Hythe is a great ‘hub’ for a visit to this area. Southampton a short trip on pier train and ferry, New Forest a 5 minute drive and some beautiful coastal scenery at nearby Lepe country park. Definitely recommend Maples. Excellent breakfast, every home comfort in your room you could want, lovely big bed, sooo comfortable with gorgeous pillows to ensure a good nights sleep. Very Covid aware, we felt very safe. Owners always wore masks we really appreciated. Very friendly couple and nothing was too much trouble.

Tips:

Two lovely restaurants we recommend are The Galley and The Boathouse, both in Hythe with excellent views. Food great in both restaurants. The Galley food was excellent I could recommend the Monkfish wrapped in pancetta but all food was brilliant and large portions too. The Boathouse has a varied menu and all.meals were enjoyed by all.

We booked 2 nights at the Maples for a wedding in Beaulieu. Elizabeth and Martin were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Each part of the stay was excellent. The room was incredible with all the amenities you would need and more. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and dietary needs were catered for with ease. Elizabeth and Martin were both friendly and approachable and were incredibly kind, even though I'm sure we weren't the easiest of guests with our timing issues. They have thought of every detail at the Maples and it really shows. I would definitely stay again. Excellent value for money, considering the standard of the hotel and the service offered.

Both times Elizabeth and Martin have gone out of their way for us and our daughter who is now nearly 3. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely and clean, the breakfasts are cooked to order and its a lovely, quiet place to stay. We will definitely be back again.

We had a lovely stay. Elizabeth and Martin are lovely hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was very nice, well cooked and plenty of choice, nothing too much trouble for them. Our room was spotless and nicely decorated, loved the high ceiling and tall window and the very large bed. The en suite was a little on the small side but very modern and had everything we needed, great shower, lovely white fluffy towels. The soap was lovely, gorgeous smell. We also had coffee/tea facilities in our room.

Elizabeth our host was lovely, she felt more like a friend than a host, she made our stay extremely comfortable by ensuring we had everything we needed. The breakfasts were amazing, great portions and absolutely delicious!!! Her restaurant choices were spot on although the Indian was closed on the Tuesday evening so we popped into Southampton which was only 15 min drive away.

Tips:

Highly recommend the Seashells restaurant on the water front. Request a sea view and you can enjoy watching the ships come and go between meal courses. The Coriander Spice Indian restaurant in Southampton was also really nice too. Bagnum Riding school for horse riding trek (even for complete beginners) was amazing!!! Be sure to visit The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard and Lymington too, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed

We would recommend 'Philpott's fish and chips' shop and the 'Seashells' restaurant, both a short walk from The Maples. There are plenty of shops close by which was very convenient. The nearby ferry service to Southampton was very easy to use and included a ride on the quaint pier train. We were spoilt for choice with many things to do and see in Southampton. The medieval walls are fabulous. Hythe itself was very relaxing, simply watching all the comings and goings of boats and vessels of all shapes and sizes. Elizabeth and Martin were very welcoming a great help to us. The food was really fresh and tasty.

Tips:

The one negative thing that surprised us was that the shops close by 5pm. Otherwise the places we have been to such as Seashells restaurant, which the entrance puts you off, was surprising nice inside and the food was also very good. The service was also good with nice staff. Then there was the Ebenezair Bar who also was very nice and had a nice wellcoming atmosphere with good food as well. There is the ferry in walking distance, just 5 minute walk and one takes the train to catch the ferry, just 5 minutes to the ferry and from there you can go to Southampton and Isle of Wight. There are many things to see there. If you like nature don`t miss a walk in the New Forest there in Hythe. There you can see the wild horses roaming about. Most are very friendly. Well a very nice experience in all, never to be forgotten.

Very very good b&b Martin & Mrs Martin couldn’t do enough for us they were very polite & helpful. The room was excellent very well appointed with the little bits that make the difference, the bed was outrageously comfortable (nearly got up late) The breakfast was very nice as was the service. All in all very good & well worth the money!!

We were made most welcome from the moment we arrived. We had a well appointed family room and downstairs in the breakfast room was a fridge for guest use and a second one with fresh milk in it. Our room was quiet and had a lovely shower room. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels and dressing gowns for us Breakfast was one of the best we’ve tasted with home made jams etc and wonderful coffee.

Tips:

We went on the train along the pier followed by A ferry that took us to the other side of Southampton Water. The Hythe ferry was within a few minutes walk of the guest house.

21st June 2019:

A delightful B&B located in the heart of Hythe. Elizabeth and Martin are incredibly kind and run a lovely hotel. Our room was cozy for two with all the necessary amenities but the sweet personal touches, like local Dorset tea, robes and a tin of homemade cookies made it feel extra special! Walking distance to lots of food, restaurants, shops, the High Street, the ferry to South Hampton, the marina & more. The breakfast was an absolute delight, made to order with local fresh ingredients and attention to detail. The Maples was a great choice for our 5 night venture to the English countryside. Accommodating, clean, friendly and we highly recommend a stay with Elizabeth & Martin.

Tips:

Forest Spice has great Indian food, try the curry and cider at Ebenezers, definitely take the ferry to South Hampton for a fun day trip...

Our hosts, Elizabeth and Martin, were very welcoming and almost immediately we were totally relaxed in The Maples. Our room was extremely comfortable with all the facilities required and our hosts served up really hearty breakfasts before our days began.

Tips:

Visitors must see the unique Hythe Ferry train that runs along a lengthy pier so passengers can catch the ferry to Southampton. Whilst our stay had limitations on what we could see, we did make the short journey to Calshot, where Southampton Water meets The Solent. At Calshot there is a long pebble beach lined with beach huts, a castle, an indoor adventure activities centre for the kids and ideal spots where you van watch the various ships and ferries on the water.

Its the little touches that make this place one you want to go back to!

We were impressed at our first stay & now we are still delighted with The Maples on this ,our, 4th booking. Martin & Elizabeth are wonderful hosts & are very welcoming & friendly. They always take an interest in their guests but are never intrusive. Attention to detail is very apparent in all aspects. We feel relaxed & 'at home' & will hope to return in the spring.

Tips:

Not to be missed is a ride on the little train down the pier followed by a ferry trip across to the city centre. Lots to see & do here as well. A walk on footpaths from Beaulieu to Buckler's Hard. The New Forest for walkers, cyclists, explorers of all persuasions.

Reliable and excellent service. I thought that the previous owners ( Godfrey and Shirley ) couldn't be matched but Martin and Elizabeth have succeeded.

Tips:

A reasonably short walk brings one to the Hythe Marina where the "Boathouse" serves good food, although it can be a bit noisy in the evenings. If you like Indian food then the "Forest Spice" is a short walk away and is very good, but be sure to book, especially at weekends.

I was only staying for one night as I had a nearby cycling event the next day. I found the host, Elizabeth, to be very welcoming. My room was small but ideal as I was travelling alone, a small sink in the room and the shared shower/bathroom across the hall were very good. The ceiling fan/light were very welcome as well on what was a warm muggy night. Elizabeth let me know about restaurants in walking distance, recommending a particular Italian, amalfi, which I visited and found to be excellent as I wanted a good pasta dish that night to set me up for the following day.Elizabeth arranged a good porridge breakfast for me (earlier than the usual breakfast time) which was excellent and much appreciated. All in all I would definitely stay again.

Once again we enjoyed a most excellent stay. The room was very well appointd as was the en-suite . The breakfast choice was exception & enough to set anyone up for the day. A very convivial stay. Thankyou Martin & Elizabeth. We shall book again next year, please!

Tips:

With the New Forest outside the front door options are numerous e.g walking, cycling, exploring etc. A train ride along the famous pier & a ferry trip into the city will bring the history of the old maritime town to life again Tudor House is worth a visit. The Maples has a comprehensive list of places to visit & local eateries so every taste can be catered for- literally!

Tips:

Calshot Castle and Calshot leisure Centre are at the very end of the New Forest on the point where the Solent meets with the Southampton water. Spectacular views, shipping galore, the castle opens on April 1st.The leisure centre has a full size Velodrome for speed cycling; the highest and widest indoor rock climbing walls with scary over hangs, are amazing and well attended by expert climbers and safety kit; a great cafe, with outdoor and indoor tables, and an indoor ski slope also used by children on sliding ringos. Read the history of the hangar on boards in the cafe. It was used in the wars to build sea planes and mulberry floating docks for the Normandy landings.

Several little things that make such a difference were the biscuit tin in the room containing local cookies, the local toiletries in bathroom, fresh milk in guest fridge located in the dining room together with the invitation to bring in takeaway food and eat in the dining room with plates supplied. Both the proprietors were must charming, great welcome upon arrival and made to feel valued. Thank you

Tips:

Stayed on a Saturday evening and found it difficult to find somewhere to eat, Hythe is not overloaded with restaurants so booking is essential, a good tip is to catch the ferry across to Southampton where you will be spoilt for choice

Elizabeth & Martin made us feel very welcome and were very helpful in ensuring we had all the information we needed to get the most from our stay.

Tips:

A great location in the heart of Hythe with easy access to the New Forest and to the Hampshire beaches. We took the opportunity to visit the Mary Rose museum in Portsmouth and to do a spot of sea fishing off the beach at Lepe. Also highly recommend a visit to Exbury Gardens.

Fabulous find! We had such a relaxing stay, it was a shame it was for only one night. The beds were so comfortable and the attention to details were what I would expect in a 5 star hotel; toiletries, breakfast selection, home made cookies were just a few. We were welcomed by the hosts and they went out of their way to provide us with a cosy yet luxury stay.

Tips:

The house is situated in the middle of the village so easy walking access to shops and restaurants. We had dinner at Ebenezers, a local restuarant/bar and they couldn't have been friendlier. The food was freshly cooked and very reasonably priced.

A most hospitable and welcoming hosts who run a high quality establishment with all the comforts of home. The place is spotless and quiet and very well managed. The breakfast is superb and one of the best I have enjoyed during my trip to England. The freshness of the berries, eggs, cereal and so on was a treat. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and so comfortable. This is one place we will return to on our next trip. A highly recommended B & B.

Tips:

The town of Hythe is historical and very pretty. The bus ride to the Beauileu estate passes through beautiful countryside and a village on the edge of the estate. The marina is also of interest and the train ride from the pier to the ancient train line along the pier a true draw card. Watching the various liners departing was also fascinating. There is much to see in this little gem in the Southampton region.

Tips:

This is a fantastic B&B right near the waterfront and Marina. Hythe is a lovely village well worth a visit and a great place to relax. I was there for the weekend on my own but had a wonderful time. There were raft races near the Marina in aid of the RNLI on the Sunday, it was good fun to see all the people who took part and all the crowds who turned out for a very worthwhile cause.

As your welcome pack in your room states: the Maples is a cosy and welcoming place to arrive and stay. I fully agree. The property is maintained to a very high standard; very clean and well organised by Martin and Elizabeth; with additional room service attendants to look after the rooms each day. This was my first visit to the Maples & to Hythe - I've booked again for another two stays later in the year; whilst taking courses at the nearby Marine training establishment.

Tips:

The Maples has space for four cars to its front. There is no street parking outside but there is a large pay and display car park [max stay time is 20 hours] opposite the front door. Fortunately, some New Forest Car Park permit/time clocks are available from the owners that can be used to park for free for overnight stays AND for many car parks around the New Forest area. Most useful if touring within the New Forest :-). The Maples is located within easy walking distance of many multi-national Take Aways, many small, varied, shops as well as the only supermarket [Waitrose]. For those taking taking courses at the nearby Marine training establishment, this is an ideal location to stay.

Thank you very much and hope to revisit again in the future!

Tips:

You can't really go wrong with eating out in Hythe. You can even get a takeaway and eat it back at The Maples in their comfy breakfast room. Go on a trip to Southampton via Hythe pier - rickety train, then Ferry over the water - oldest train pier in Britain. Children would really enjoy it too.

Our visit to Maples was for a special event , afternoon tea , hosted by Elizabeth & Martin the owners of Maples. Although we did not have an overnight stay our hosts were very welcoming . From talking to Elizabeth it is clear that nothing is too much trouble to ensure that her guests are well looked after .

Tips:

A good guide book , an ordnance survey map & walking boots , explore parts of the New Forest you can't see from the road . Refuel at The Turfcutters arms , East Boldre , with Venison Stew & dumpling ! If that's too strenuous, take a trip on the Hythe pier train & ferry to Southampton . A famously unique experience.

On arrival they were very friendly, they showed us the local places to eat and their recommendations. Breakfast was spot on and again very friendly. Asking about iur plans and when we told them they were very helpful on giving us suggestions on where to go. So all in all well worth the visit and will definitely go back

We enjoyed another good stay at The Maples,a very tasty breakfast with plenty of variety.Comfortable and well serviced rooms with tea and coffee facilities.Little touches like the milk jugs to take up for drinks.Friendly hosts where nothing is too much trouble.

Tips:

Hythe a relaxing place to stay gateway to the New forest and other coastal towns.Good places to eat, particularly Sea Shells where you can eat drink and watch the cruise ships and isle of white ferries .There is a ferry across to Southampton ,a walk down the historic pier one mile long.Along from the town there is a marina with two restaurants.A sightseeing bus hop on hop off regular service.

What can I say that's better than excellent.."12 out of 10" You and Martin were very welcoming and made our stay great. Your breakfasts are first class could not have asked for more. Will definitely see you again. Just like to say "I loved your mushrooms!!"

Tips:

Plenty to do ferry to Southampton then Red Jet to West Cows then if like us "bus pass" to wherever on the island for free!! Sit and relax and watch the large cruise liners on their way out of Southampton in the evenings. You can catch the open top bus "green route" from the pier for a great trip around the New Forest if you are feeling ambitious you can catch either the "red or blue route" they link up on part of their journeys, each route takes approximately just over 2 hours.

Martin and Elizabeth where fabulous hosts, very friendly, made you feel most welcome without being overpowering. The breakfast was lovely with fresh chopped fruit, homemade granola and various hot options. I opted for the family room where you could see the lights of the boats on the sea at night. Plenty of information about local walks and maps that I pondered over whilst enjoying the homemade cookies they kindly provided on arrival. Very comfortable bed so I slept soundly.

Tips:

I traveled down by train to Southampton Central and took the passenger ferry across the estuary to Hythe, the boat drops you at the pier where a quaint old train picks you up (included in your ticket) The Maples is a short walk away, this was quicker than by road and much more fun.

I stay at hotels several times a week for work. This was a great place to stay, maybe not the biggest room but for the price it was enough, and it was well made up for with the great attitude and service provided by the owners. The location was great, right next to the ferry to Southampton and the local stores. Plenty of free parking across the street, just ask for the permit from the staff. One great feature is the outlets, if you forget your UK adapter there is a USB port available in the outlets, very useful to charge your phone, especially since I used my phone as a GPS in my rental car. For my one night stay I was very happy with The Maples!

A very friendly welcome on arrival and even a courtesy call the previous evening. This was good for them to establish any needs, allergies our party may have. The breakfast was good and varied choice. The rooms were well equipped for our stay, the homemade biscuits a nice thought. We look forward to coming back next year.

Tips:

We enjoy eating at the Sea-Shells,a local restaurant overlooking the water. The food is good and there is a good choice as well as The Travellers Rest a short drive from the Maples. The small ferry is great if you dont want to drive to Southampton and a free bus takes you to west quay a huge shopping center. From The Maples you are a short drive from Beuilie motor museum which is a good day out. Also Lymington a lovely marina and town which has a street market.Of course the new forest and the quaint little villages.Handy also for the cruise ships which sail in and out of So'hampton a sight to see.

Welcoming and happy atmosphere. I had two little dogs with me and we were all made to feel very much at home. The room had a lovely view over to local Church and the bathroom and shower although not on suite were immaculately clean and modern. The full English Breakfast was yummy and Elizabeth brought it up to me so I didn't have to leave the dogs alone. I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend The Maples as a pleasant place to stay in Hythe.

28th September 2015:

Extremely friendly and accommodating hosts Martin and Elizabeth met and greeted us with a warm welcome after a tiring and long journey unexpectedly delayed by circumstances beyond our control. Even though we only arrived close to 10pm, their warmth and kind understanding went a long way to help us settle in quickly. Breakfast serving was of an extreme high standard as well as having a wide variety that will certainly meet many a discerning palate.

Tips:

Take a walk down to the promenade to watch the cruise ships sail by while strolling along the historic Hythe pier. Take the Hythe ferry across to the Eastern docks where you could hop onto a ferry across to the Isle of Wight. Local High street is just a few minutes walk away from the Maples. Whatever you do , do enjoy!

Excellent and friendly accommodating hosts. Due to unforeseen severe travel delays, we only arrived at 10pm but Martin and Elizabeth were extremely understanding and went out of their way to quickly settle us in and make us feel so incredibly at home.

Tips:

Take a short walk down into the high street and the promenade just 7 minutes walk away. Watch the cruise and other ships sail by while taking a slow long stroll along the historic Hythe pier. Life is busy enough - take some time out, relax! Board the Hythe ferry for a very short sail to the Eastern docks where you could hop onto the Red funnel ferry across to the Isle of Wight.

We were over the moon when we walked past and saw that you had a vacancy, when you opened the door you greeted us with a massive smile and a warm welcome. The room had everything we wanted, en suite which is a must, and this looked liked it had recently undergone refurbishment, lovely fluffy towels, that were usable and fitted snugly around you. A great choice of tea and coffee facilitys in the room, even down to homemade biscuits? The bed was comfortable with nice fresh white linen, and a view over the sea. The breakfast choice was wonderful, 3 big mixed bowls of fresh fruit, home made jams, cereals and that was before we even looked at the cooked menu, it was lovely to have locally sourced products and this was reflected in the quailty of the bacon and sausages, nothing was to much trouble. We have to say for a couple that have only just ventured into the B&B business, your doing grand, keep it up, and if we are ever in your neck of the woods again, were coming to you.

Tips:

Forest Spice indian was really good, and the Nelson pub, was how how a pub should be.

Owner Response:

Thank you for your review. We do take all of our reviews seriously and appreciate the feedback that you have given. Having only taken over ownership of The Maples in the last 2 months we have had very little time during the high season to implement our plans of refurbishment. We have however made a number of changes to the rooms including Egyptian cotton bed linen, high quality towels and we're in the process of changing some of the furniture in the rooms. We are sorry that you were disappointed with the bed in your room.  The bed is a "zip and link" kingsize bed.  Two mattresses are linked together by a zip which is covered by a mattress topper and clips on the base of the bed.  Within the hotel industry it is standard practice to use these beds due to their versatility. To increase comfort in that bed we have now added a mattress topper. We hope that you will enjoy the difference when you next visit The Maples.

Love the checked trousers Elizabeth, and the ipad ordering system. Also, I was very impressed with the jugs of orange and apple juice with ice in them. It didn't worry us but our TV was a bit tricky...and I didn't realise that the Dorset tea golden blend is "normal" tea. Marmalade very good too

A very peaceful stay, the bed was large and very comfortable with just the right amount of firmness, the whole place is clean and comfortable with a pleasant, homely atmosphere. Hubby opted for the full English breakfast every morning which he thoroguhly enjoyed particularly the mushrooms! I recommend their homemade meusli - yum! Martin and Elizabeth are lovely people and we wish them every success. We would definitely go back there if we had the chance to visit the UK.

Tips:

We recommend taking the ferry over to Southhampton which is full of history - remnants of the ancient town wall, the Tudor house museum, and look out for metal plaques inlaid in the sidewalk down one of the main streets giving tid-bits of historical information including the Titanic which sailed out of Southhampton. If we had the time we would have gone over to the Isle of Wight too.

The friendly, new owners were most welcoming - a tray of tea and biscuits in our room when we arrived was just what we needed. Excellent breakfast the next morning, in the sunny dining room. They even provide a large jar of Marmite to go with your toast, and that is quite rare!

Tips:

We only stayed one night so are not familiar with what Hythe has to offer, except for the sight of cruise ships, right down to little dinghies, sailing up and down Southampton Water. Lovely to sit on the promenade and watch the boats, and the little train go up and down the pier to the ferry.
